Marble is absolutely beautiful, but it can be scratched, corroded and needs to be maintenanced annually. So the material, which can also come with a hefty price tag, may not be best for everyone. Luckily, quartz marble tops offer all the elegance, but without the price or maintenance.
Amy suggests considering quartz offered by lines like Polar Stone, Caesarstone and Silestone. The quartz comes in a variety of colors and shades with veining that looks real. Of course, because no two pieces of natural marble is the same, Amy recognizes that some people will shy away from quartz because their patterns are repeated. That may be changing soon, though, as more and more suppliers are coming out with quartz colors that are less patterned and look even more like the real thing.
