When remodeling a kitchen, having ample storage is always a crucial concern. So, when Schloegel Design Remodel Designer Debby Allmon remodeled her own kitchen, she made sure almost every feature included a functional storage option. Here, Debby talks about some of the storage tricks in her kitchen that could work for you!

Breakfast nook

Debby’s breakfast nook isn’t just for seating. The panels actually function as drawers, so the bench becomes the perfect space to store napkins, tablecloths and placemats.

Custom Drawers

Debby’s china hutch is a custom piece designed to both showcase and store the family’s china. While many pieces are on display in the hutch, the outside drawers have two pull-out shelves for storing smaller items. Debby designed her center drawer to be large enough to hold the rest of the family’s china. She emphasized that drawers and shelves can almost always be custom designed and ordered to fit your unique needs.

Cabinet pantry

With its doors closed, you likely wouldn’t know this cabinet also functions as a pantry. When you don’t have room for a dedicated pantry room or closet, an oversized cabinet is a perfect way to keep kitchen items close and organized. An added plus to this cabinet-pantry is the ledge underneath the microwave, which gives the family enough space to make a quick lunch or snack without spreading any mess to the rest of the kitchen.
