Last updated on May 21, 2021

A powder bathroom may be the smallest room in your home but that doesn’t mean it needs to be void of design. In fact, we believe just the opposite. Because it’s such a small space often utilized by guests, it’s the perfect place to go a little extra. So, if you love the look of wallpaper but are scared to hang it in your home, here’s your chance! Today we’re sharing 11 of our favorite powder bathrooms from the past couple of years, each with a style all their own.

1. Whimsical with Distinct Style

This powder bathroom, designed by Donna Kirsopp, takes design to the next level. The existing stained-glass window was the starting point. The fun bird wallpaper perfectly tied in the window colors. A live edge slab is used as the vanity top with a marble backsplash. The gold birdcage light fixture and mirror pull out the warm tones of the wallpaper. The bathroom is the perfect play on colors and materials with a touch of whimsy.

2. Geometric Transitional

While none of the standalone elements was a design risk perhaps putting them together in a small space was. But it paid off! The geometric wallpaper and the Sienna white hexagon marble tile are varying shapes but end up complimenting each other with their shared color palette. Ron Webster chose the rest of the selections to support but not overpower including the gray vanity and beveled mirror.

3. Industrial and Contemporary

This fabulous powder bathroom mixes contemporary and industrial elements like the floating concrete sink with and frameless, light stained cabinets. In Amy Brown’s design, the standard mirror doesn’t overpower the other elements, and a black hexagonal tile floor gives the room an injection of color.

4. Bold and Traditional

The classic elements including the white vanity, white Q Quartz countertop, and hardwood floors are amped up with the bold navy wallpaper in this beautiful powder room designed by Nina Schmidt. With the dark backdrop, the brass light fixture and mirror really pop.

5. Moody with a Touch of Industrial

With a dark vanity and gray walls this powder bathroom, designed by Kelly Summers, puts out moody vibes. The Restoration Hardware light fixtures and faucet threw in a touch of industrial creating a true bathroom design moment.

6. Eclectic Romantic

Marble style tile and a Kohler pedestal sink are a nod to traditional elegance in this powder bathroom designed by Donna Kirsopp. Purple wallpaper adds an air of romance and the fun light fixture and shell framed mirror bring in a bit of the unexpected.

7. Industrial Glam

This room, designed by Donna Kirsopp, is so beautiful you may find guests spending more time here than necessary. The vertically laid porcelain tile is dramatic and warmed up with the end grain butcher block counter. The dark vessel sink and tile floors are subtle. Exceptional touches like the wall mount Moen faucet and circular mirror with flanking sconces create a bold, dramatic powder room. Or dare we say Industrial Glam.

8. Modern Vintage

The powder bathroom, designed by Megan Bringman, is packed with design and attention to detail. The sink and vanity are Restoration Hardware. The white penny tile texture plays perfectly with the Cole & Sons Nuvolette wallpaper. The brass Circa lighting fixtures pop against the black, white & gray backdrop.

9. Bold and Contemporary

The frameless, floating vanity sets the stage for this contemporary bathroom designed by Ron Webster. It’s a reconstituted white oak in Meadow topped with a Cambria Torquay quartz countertop. A brass mirror and fixtures pop against the gray and blue walls. And the light fixture adds character.

10. Traditional with European Flair

Megan Bringman designed this curved front vanity is topped with a stunning Kohler Caravan® Persia Conical Bell® vessel sink. The ornate arched mirror is reminiscent of the European Baroque period.

11. Textured Contemporary

Another wonderful powder bathroom designed by Donna Kirsopp. This bathroom showcases a live edge counter with a vessel bowl. Live edge means what the outside of the tree looks like. The simple onyx bowl allows the wood to stand out. The overall design is simple allowing the showcase pieces to take the glory.
