  • 15 Fireplaces to Keep You Cozy During the Holidays

Last updated on December 10, 2022

The cold has officially set in, just in time for the holidays. So, what better time to share some of our favorite fireplace remodels?! Fireplaces often don’t get the credit they deserve. They are the focal point in a room, where our eye is instantly drawn, the element furniture is arranged around, and they come in so many variations! Whether they’re minimal and contemporary or traditional and ornate we love the details involved in each of them and the character they bring to a home.

1. Traditional Meets Modern

The classic black and white hues and original black marble are brought to life with the amazing board and batten grid bard overmantel. The clean corbels and pilasters offer a modern complement to the traditional marble mantel and surround. Read more about the Traditional Meets Modern Remodel

2. Contemporary Lines

Shiplap wood laid at an angle and taken to the ceiling create a dramatic, contemporary effect while the wood mantle brings in warmth. The porcelain mosaic tile surround adds a bit of texture. A beautiful mix of lines for a style all its own.

Designer: Ron Webster

3. Warm and Rustic

The two-sided fireplace steals the show and offers the quintessential cozy and warm vibe. Veneer stone surrounds the indoor/outdoor fireplace and a limestone mantle and corbels are just the right contrast. The wooden beam adds a touch of rustic, creating the perfect space.

4. Scandinavian Retreat

Who wouldn’t want a fireplace at the foot of their bed?! This clean and crisp two-sided fireplace encompasses Scandinavian style with its large-format white porcelain tile, Cambria Ironsbridge quartz hearth, and rustic, wood mantle. The mantle is actually a support beam from the original home we were able to salvage during the demo. Read More about this remodel.

5. Modern Classic

The transitional, cast stone, two-way fireplace sets the stage for this gorgeous room. Classic brass light sconces flank the fireplace and the ceiling’s wood beams inject coziness.  Neutral, cozy furnishings complete the room and invite you to sit and stay awhile. 6. Everyday Elegance

Veneer stone surround is taken to the ceiling to add interest and drama to this beautiful family room. The flush slab hearth and mantel with corbels are stone. A glass and gold light fixture adds a touch of elegance to this room created for everyday relaxation.

7. Minimal Lines, Modern Design

Large-format tiles frame the entire fireplace wall while the metal fireplace surround in metal offer a material and color juxtaposition. The interior design by Debby Schloegel completes this amazing, modern living room.

8. Patterned Contemporary

The 3D pattern in these tiles offers all the design this fireplace needed. The warm, inviting latte hue plays well with the black, fireplace insert. Dark painted walls and a true work of art light fixture make this the perfect place to watch all your holiday favorites.

9. Traditional Stone with a Modern Mix

Bringing the traditional style “Country Squire” stone to the ceiling created a moment in this family room addition. The clean line blacked painted mantle adds a touch of modern. This two-sided fireplace truly captures the essence of indoor/outdoor living. Read more about this project.

10. Contemporary Art

By using large format rectified tile, we were able to keep the grout lines tight which butt right up to the thin mantle achieving an ultra-contemporary vibe.  The tile itself mimics the natural patina of weathered metal and brings in hues of rust and gray. Custom art niches perfectly display the homeowner’s global art collection. Read more about this contemporary renovation.

11. Classic Stone

It’s simple, it’s classic, it’s timeless. Beautiful stone tile brought to the ceiling with a gas insert fireplace and wood mantle. The coffered ceiling adds to the classic appeal of this beautiful family room.

12. Painted White Brick

A beautiful fireplace doesn’t always mean a new fireplace and that’s true of this one. We painted the built-ins, mantle, and brick surround a crisp white paint. The homeowners added a new decorative screen and Wa-lah a brand-new fireplace! Read more about this remodel.

13. Cherry Craftsmen Fireplace

Keeping the integrity of this Craftsman style fireplace and built-ins was paramount. We installed a new fireplace insert as well as a Picasso Travertine stone surround.
