It’s that time again, time to give away a bathroom makeover to a deserving family in the Kansas City area and we need your help getting the word out. There are so many amazing families in our area that struggle to help their children with daily bathroom activities because most bathrooms aren’t built with accessibility in mind. We know how small changes can make a huge impact on a child’s life and that is why we started the Big Splash Bathroom Giveaway eight years ago. It is an opportunity for Schloegel to do what they do best for a family that needs a little help.
Once again, we’ve partnered with the wonderful people at Love Fund for Children to help us identify our recipient family so that this initiative can have the greatest impact.
How it Works
We will be taking nominations for children that would benefit from an accessible bathroom now through Friday, October 26, 2018.
The giveaway includes a complete bathroom makeover which includes handicap accessible fixtures and features, a $25,000 value. The recipient will be announced the first week of December and the project will kick off in January of 2019. Take a look at the Giveaway Rules for more details.
Last Year’s Recipient
Last year it was a privilege to be welcomed into the Coots home. They are a truly wonderful family with four remarkable boys, two of them were born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. We worked with them to create a bathroom that could support the boys’ needs allowing them to be more independent.
“I could write an entire essay on how the bathroom has changed the boys’ lives and ours. When you don’t have an accessible house you learn to function, you work around the hardships and make it work. Since the bathroom was remodeled, we have gained so much relief from the safety and independence it has brought Jonathan. In addition, the ease of switching to use the shower for Joseph has really made bath time so much easier on everyone. Now that it is accessible, we often wonder how we managed when it was not.
And one final thing…we would have never been able to make this happen for our boys without Schloegel and all of the contractors and companies who donated time, labor and materials. We will never be able to say thank you enough.” – Jennifer Coots
