Donna Kirsopp was on KC Live last Wednesday discussing the Remodeled Homes Tour. The tour was held this past weekend April 28 & 29. Hopefully, you had a chance to drop by one of our stops!
Homes Tour – Whole House Remodel
In addition to talking about the tour, Donna also shared a little about the home she helped re-design on the tour in South Overland Park. The project was a whole house remodeling project in a Mediterranean style. The kitchen has a new layout but stayed within its footprint in the home. A wall was pushed out and the island was expanded.
They also had the chance to look at the laundry/mudroom. The updated room boasts a beverage center, command center, and a new steam cabinet.
Determining Whether to Remodel or Move?
Donna said when she talks to anyone interested in remodeling there are a few important questions which help determine if they’re ready to remodel. Are you planning on staying in your home? What are your objectives for a remodel? What makes you happy? What’s going to keep you in your home?
Aging in place is also an important consideration in remodeling, especially in bathrooms. It considers how you’ll use the room now and needs in the future. Aging in place isn’t what it used to be, everything is more convenient for everyone. Hand bars are decorative and doorways are larger.
