  • Not Your Average Handyman – Bathroom Renovations II

Last updated on December 10, 2022

Schloegel Handyman Services are not just your average Handymen. Yes, they absolutely can do all of the standard handyman services such as installing an appliance, replacing windows or fixing a leaky faucet but they can also do so much more. Many homeowners are ready for a change in their bathroom but don’t need to do a full bathroom renovation. Their projects fall somewhere between a full bathroom renovation and just replacing a showerhead.

That is where Schloegel’s Handyman Services comes in. Not only do they have an expert team of handymen but they have a dedicated designer. Kelly Summers works with each of her clients to understand their needs and helps create the perfect design for their vision. A few weeks ago, we shared a couple of her recent projects and today we’re going to share two more. Missed Kelly’s other bathroom renovations? You can see them here.

Transitional Kansas City Bathroom Renovation

The homeowners of this Kansas City home purchased their home knowing they had their work cut out for them. Their hope was to do a lot of the work themselves and bring in an expert for projects they needed help on. Their primarybathroom was one of the rooms they knew they’d need some expert help on. They looked to Schloegel’s Handyman Services when the time came.

The homeowners dreamed of creating a spa-like retreat in their primarybathroom and Kelly worked with them to put the perfect design together. The platform behind their old tub and the tub itself was unused space. In fact, they used that area for storage.  The design converted the old tub and platform space into a large shower.

Before 1

The new shower is stunning. It provides the spa feel the homeowners hoped for and takes advantage of all the previously unused bathroom space. The large window next to the tub was removed and a small opaque window was added to provide privacy and still allow in light. The hexagonal tile in the shower pairs perfectly with the white 4 x 16 white subway tiles and the bench ties in the floor’s Dimensions Gris tile from the floor.

Shower After

The old vanity and large mirror were removed. A new maple vanity in praline was installed with a beautiful quartz counter and backsplash. The homeowners were not afraid to mix their metal finishes and the result is perfect. The gold mirrors look great with the brushed nickel shower and faucet fixtures.

The renovated bathroom is absolutely stunning. The gray and white tiles and paint are warmed by the wood vanity and gold accents. The homeowner’s décor adds the perfect touches to finish this beautiful primarybathroom renovation.

Bathroom After

Traditional Kansas City Bathroom Renovation

This bathroom renovation provides a drastic before and after. The old bathroom had stretched-out carpet in front of the vanity as well as an old shower and vanity. It was dark and dated and the homeowner was excited about a refresh.

Bathroom Before

The new bathroom is light, bright and so much more functional. The carpet is long gone and replaced with a beautiful porcelain tiled floor laid in a diamond pattern. The tiles are so much easier to keep clean. The new linen color vanity helps bring some light color into the room. The undermount sinks and quartz countertop make getting ready each day a breeze.

The new shower is Onyx. It is an ideal material to choose for low maintenance. It’s easy to keep clean and has no grout. Onyx is a beautiful option for a low maintenance shower.

Another awesome change to the bathroom was removing the standard door and installing a barn door between the vanity and shower areas. The door no longer takes up much-needed space. It was also clunky to walk around. The barndoor provides privacy without taking any space.
