Kelly Summers stopped by KC Live last week Thursday to discuss NARI’s Fall Remodeled Homes Tour and Schloegel’s two stops on the tour with Kelly Nyberg.

This is the first fall tour! People going on the tour can expect to see design ideas, kitchens, bathrooms, additions and take away plenty of ideas for their own home projects.
Loose Park Home
Kelly had the opportunity to work on one of the homes on the tour which is near Loose Park. They shared several before and after pictures during the segment.

We opened up the wall on the left. The couple that purchased the home does a lot of entertaining so it was important for them to be able to open up the home and have fewer doors. The open space is perfect for entertaining and helping with traffic patterns and flow.
This is a photo of the previous kitchen. The beam ceiling is dark and heavy.
The after doesn’t even look like the same kitchen. The lower shaker cabinets are navy blue while the upper cabinets are gray. The exposed wood beams really pop against the white paint. It was really important for the homeowners to stay true to the Craftsman style design of the home because it is a historic home. So they ensured they kept the window trim, exposed wood beams and other historical elements.
The primarybedroom before was dark and awkwardly laid out.
Two rooms were combined and we redesigned the layout to create a true primarysuite. The primarybedroom is fresh and crisp with the white walls while the exposed beams bring in warmth, dimension, and texture.
The primarybathroom was small and cramped before.
The homeowners wanted to have a blend of style in their primarysuite. The new bathroom brings in clean modern lines for the bathroom with a European or Contemporary style.
Fairway Kitchen
Kelly and Kelly also briefly touched on Schloegel’s other stop on the Remodeled Homes Tour which is in Fairway. It is a beautiful kitchen designed by Ron Webster. Read more about the Fairway kitchen renovation.
