The Living Fence Lives!!

Last updated on January 1, 1970

Earlier this summer I completed the last section of the living fence in my yard. The fence is built of cedar and has sections of rebar that were framed in cedar as well. As an avid gardener this was a challenging summer to keep the garden blooming or even alive. Although a little late in the season I planted several fast growing vines such as pea vine and Morning Glories to cover the new sections of fence . The Wisteria that was planted last year has now attached to the rebar panels and wound its way to the top. The new annual vines will easily be removed from the fence in either fall or spring. I will be on the lookout for other perennial vines to make a permanent home on the fence.
