Houzz just published their article “New This Week: 12 Kitchens That Wow With Wood Cabinets” and we are so excited to have one of our projects featured (# 4).
The Houzz article highlights several design trends that feature various ways to use wood cabinets in your home along with some insider tips and tricks. With white cabinets dominating kitchen cabinets over the past few years seeing wood cabinets making a come back is a welcome trend. This stunning Overland Park kitchen is showcased as the fourth kitchen in the article with its fabulous elm lower cabinets.
The Project
For this project, our clients explained that their biggest wish was to “do more with less.” Less clutter and fewer cabinets. More space and more style. Less busy. More simplicity.
During the remodel we changed the floor plan slightly by updating the layout of the pantry and the island but the biggest change that meets the eye is in aesthetics. We brought this kitchen from dark, dated, and drab to bright, sleek, and completely on-trend.
The beautiful waterfall island counter in Cambria Brittanica is stunning and brings so much light to the space. The island’s second tier in Ellipse Stone brings in an industrial element. We also lightened the cabinets combining Eclipse frameless cabinets in Natural Elm on the lowers with polar white finish upper cabinets. The backsplash on the range oven allowed us to add a bit of color, incorporating a herringbone pattern and using Mews by Mutina in lead color to add some extra depth and dimension.
