See what happened last week here!

With the ridge beam and support in place and the temporary walls stabilizing the legs, the existing arbor slats are removed. The primary roof support is made up of three rafters running down to the existing perimeter beam.

Mid-span rafters are 4” x 4” and are blocked up from the perimeter beam. Cross member between the main 8” x 10” rafters, called purlins tie the structure together and are equal to the depth of the 10” deep rafters.

With the staining of the lumber done ahead of time, there will be minimal staining required only at cut ends.

These guys are doing such a beautiful job and the detailing is perfect. Our homeowner is psyched!

This is part of an ongoing remodeling project administrated by Donna Kirsopp, design consultant.

Donna Kirsopp, CKBA  has been with the SDR team since 1999 and in the industry since 1982.  Donna has been recognized by NARI and KCH&G as an award winning designer for 15 consecutive years. “ I am so fortunate to get up every morning loving  what I do.” Donna, a native of Pittsburgh PA, has one grown daughter. “ In my spare time you can find me in my garden or on the golf course.”
