As adults, we understand all too well the importance of being Eco-friendly and environmentally conscious. Green living is a part of who we are and we are proud of it. In our many efforts to lead green lives we forget to actually teach our children the reasons behind our green methods and the importance of saving the earth.

But, maybe your kids know more about being green than you think! Our Vice President, Debby Allmon, recently realized this when she found some of her 9 year old daughter’s artwork in the backseat.

Take a look at this!

My Help List

So Adorable!

Teaching your children the importance of recycling and great green methods are lessons that they will carry with them throughout their lives.

Here are some ways to teach your kids about recycling and to get them involved in the cause.

Composting

Composting is a great way to get your children involved with your home’s recycling practices. Kids can help you compost by collecting food scraps and yard waste and placing the items into your compost bin. Once your scraps have completely composted, your kids can spread the compost over your garden while getting their hands a little dirty!

Separating Recyclables

Separating your recyclables is another fantastic way to get your kids involved with recycling. Create separate, labeled bins for your children to place your paper, cardboard, metals, plastics, and glass into.

While recycling is very important, remember to make it fun for your children! Happy Recycling!
