Considering remodeling your home for a more up-to-date look, while also becoming more environmentally friendly? Schloegel Design Remodel can help you achieve the look you want with sustainable, non-toxic materials that are not only beautiful, but also healthier for your family and the earth.

When considering a home remodel project, you will definitely want to read up on VOCs, or Volatile Organic Compounds. According to the EPA,

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. VOCs include a variety of chemicals, some of which may have short- and long-term adverse health effects.

VOCs can be emitted by paints, lacquers, building materials, furnishings, and many other objects, and can cause a range of symptoms including eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches, and nausea. Fortunately, many companies are starting to produce low or no-VOC building materials, from paint and carpet to wood finishes and caulks.
