Our homeowners, both busy parents, wanted to finish a portion of their unfinished basement. Their goal was to create an adult area suiting both of their needs. She wanted a wine room and a place to spend time with friends. He wanted a room where he could watch games, smoke cigars, and play cards.
In our previous post, we featured a beautiful lower level remodel in which we did a major transformation on the staircase.
We had a wonderful time working with Arlene Ladegaard of Design Connection, Inc. (pictured below) who introduced us to the homeowners on this project.
We are having fun with the remodeling and decorating book from 1954!!
In this blog we are showing two “cellar” remodels that were high style in 1954 and one that Schloegel Design Remodel completed in 2010.
Do you think things have changed much?
Schloegel Design Remodel has hired Charlie Schloegel, son of company founder, Jake Schloegel, to head up a relatively new and growing venture within the Schloegel family of companies.
Charlie will manage the Handyman Services division (Schloegel Property Solutions), which provides professional home repairs and maintenance.
We recently completed a lower level remodel in conjunction with Design Connection, Inc. This media room looks so inviting! What a great place to view a favorite movie or sporting event! (I’ll take extra butter!)
We are putting the finishing touches on a lower level finish. Part of this basement was finished years ago by a previous homeowner and we were able to expand on that for an economical addition to this home. This expanded finished area includes a television room, half bathroom and storage closet.
Our carpenter, Tom, just completed framing out a chalkboard space in this new basement playroom for our clients Katie (6) and Sam (4). We applied black chalkboard paint inside the frame. The winning colors for the playroom space have been carefully selected and are Benjamin Moore’s “Rosy Blush” (top left) and “Clearest Ocean Blue” (bottom right). We divided the room in half just to be fair!
Here's a before and after look at Katie and Sam's basement playroom.
We recently completed a beautiful lower level remodel. Here are some before and during pictures, as well as an after picture, of how the lower level staircase entry has evolved. As you can see, a person would originally descend the staircase and walk a short hallway to the door into the basement.
