Wood work
This photo shows Gabe Chiu, one of our Lead Carpenters, constructing a hollow box beam that will soon be installed in a lower level remodel that he is working on. Gabe is working on these beams in our shop while the drywall is being installed and finished on his job.
A new addition
Gabe, one of our Lead Carpenters, and his wife Maggie are proud to announce the arrival of their new daughter, Charlotte Rose. Charlotte joined the world on Monday, May 24th, weighing in at 7.5 pounds. Congratulations to Charlotte Rose, Maggie and Gabe on such a beautiful new girl!
Finished Basement Remodel
We have completed the basement work that we blogged about earlier this week. Here are pictures of the completed television room.
Part of our work included constructing the two areas of storage that are flanking the center television stand.

Popcorn Anyone? This Media Room is So Inviting!
We recently completed a lower level remodel in conjunction with Design Connection, Inc. This media room looks so inviting! What a great place to view a favorite movie or sporting event! (I’ll take extra butter!)
Table transformation
Family history will be preserved in this kitchen makeover. Sally and Don raised their children around this maple butcher block table.
We have planned a new kitchen island that will utilize this modified and renewed table as the new island counter.
Not only are we restoring a piece of family history, but we're also recycling lumber.
Getting a feel for hardwood flooring
Jake,
I'm ready to lay hardwood flooring. It says to lay felt underneath. Is this the #15 tar paper felt used in roofing?
– Terry
Terry,
There are several reasons a felt type paper is installed below hardwood floor. The paper helps control sound, adds a softening to the floor and acts as a vapor or moisture barrier.
And The Winners Are…
Our carpenter, Tom, just completed framing out a chalkboard space in this new basement playroom for our clients Katie (6) and Sam (4). We applied black chalkboard paint inside the frame. The winning colors for the playroom space have been carefully selected and are Benjamin Moore’s “Rosy Blush” (top left) and “Clearest Ocean Blue” (bottom right). We divided the room in half just to be fair!
Here's a before and after look at Katie and Sam's basement playroom.
