Turning a three-season porch into a four-season porch

Jake-

Turning a three season porch into more of a four season porch with out spending a lot of money. Being able to insulate to keep heat from escaping quickly.

Thanks, Mary

Hi Mary,

I’m assuming you want some information on how to best insulate your room to maximize its comfort and extend its seasonal use.

Mirrors can make a room

Mirrors can always be used as design elements. They can add dimension to a small room by eliminating the boundaries of walls and can be used to increase the amount of both natural and supportive lighting as it virtually bounces around the room.

Mirror options go beyond silvered mirrors to include antiqued, tinted or concave or convex shapes.

More Remodeling Fun from the Past: 1950s Design vs Now

We are having fun with the remodeling and decorating book from 1954!!

In this blog we are showing two “cellar” remodels that were high style in 1954 and one that Schloegel Design Remodel completed in 2010.

Do you think things have changed much?

Adding more receptacles

One of our designers went out to measure a home so she could start drawings for new concepts of the space. Although not unusual of a house build at this time, she noticed they had over 11’-6” of kitchen cabinetry with NO countertop receptacles. There is only one receptacle in the area, and it is off to the side at the light switch location.

Count on these new Sub-zero columns

Here's a message from one of our Designers, Megan, about a new product from Sub-zero.

I visited Roth Distributing yesterday to take a look at the new Sub-zero columns that have just been introduced to their integrated refrigeration lineup. Currently, they are only available in a 27” width but will most likely be introducing additional sizes soon.

Are you inspired?

There is only one week left in the Design Sherpa “What Inspires You?” contest. Enter, and you could win $10,000, a 10-day trip to Paris while attending  Maison & Objet along with the opportunity to publish your experiences to a vast professional and consumer design audience!

We're excited to see some of the entries.
