Schloegel Design Remodel Lends A Helping Hand

Schloegel Design Remodel’s team members believe in participating and supporting the communities we work and live in. This photo is a perfect example of the Schloegel team members getting involved.

Doug Drury, a long time Certified Lead Carpenter with us, participated in his church’s community service program.

Debby Allmon on bedroom soundproofing

Q. In 2010, I bought a home built in 1956. I love the house, however, there are noisy people who live nearby. They play their music loudly with the bass thumping late at night.

I have been out so many times in the evening searching but have been unable to locate the source of the noise.

Historical Hyde Park Project Before

We are really excited to be starting a project in historical Hyde Park.  This wonderful duplex was built in 1921, and still posses many of the beautiful, unique qualities found in buildings built during that era.  The generous moldings, doors and trim are original.

Finger Jointed Trim

I had my doubts about finger jointed exterior trim when it became common some 20 years ago. I thought at the time that it would be troublesome. I called my millwork provider and expressed my concern. I could see the wood separating over time at the machined joints and moisture seeping in and causing the joint to fail.

Amazing Temple right here in Kansas City – Kansas City Mormon Temple

Jake Schloegel and Brad Scott had the privilege of touring the brand new Kansas City Mormon Temple on April 9th.  They were hosted by DeWayne and Rebecca Andersen, parents of Samuel and Daniel, our Big Splash Custom Bath makeover recipients.  The Temple is available for tours through Saturday, April 28th.

Popcorn Anyone? This Media Room is So Inviting!

We recently completed a lower level remodel in conjunction with Design Connection, Inc.  This media room looks so inviting!  What a great place to view a favorite movie or sporting event!  (I’ll take extra butter!)

Lower Level Living Part 2

Our clients remodel their lower levels for various reasons, whether it’s to create an in-home bowling alley, a walk-in cellar or just some extra cozy space for their family. In a previous post we showed you a basement transformation in which the homeowners came to Schloegel Design Remodel because they needed more space to spend time together as a family.

Gorgeous Staircase Transformation

We recently completed a remodel, part of which included updating the main staircase of our clients’ home.

This update included new oak treads and risers, new carpet runner, wrought iron spindles and paint.  The change in this home is so dramatic that it seems difficult to believe that it is actually the same house we originally walked into.

Historical Hyde Park Renovation Safe Lead Paint Removal

We began working on the historical Hyde Park renovation a few weeks ago. Since the building was erected in 1921, we followed safe lead practices as required by the EPA which included the isolation of the entire building, removal and proper disposal of all debris.
