We are really excited to be starting a project in historical Hyde Park. This wonderful duplex was built in 1921, and still posses many of the beautiful, unique qualities found in buildings built during that era. The generous moldings, doors and trim are original.
Our carpenter, Tom, just completed framing out a chalkboard space in this new basement playroom for our clients Katie (6) and Sam (4). We applied black chalkboard paint inside the frame. The winning colors for the playroom space have been carefully selected and are Benjamin Moore’s “Rosy Blush” (top left) and “Clearest Ocean Blue” (bottom right). We divided the room in half just to be fair!
Here's a before and after look at Katie and Sam's basement playroom.
Kansas City Homes & Gardens has announced this year’s winners of the 2010 Remodel of the Year Awards. We are grateful to our homeowners for allowing the SDR team the opportunity to work with them to achieve their remodeling goals, and we appreciate them allowing their projects to be judged within the remodeling industry.
Schloegel Design Remodel would like to thank Schutte Lumber Co. for featuring us on their blog site. In their post titled ‘Remodeling Success with Distressed Wood Beams,’ Schutte Lumber Co. featured a basement remodel that was completed by SDR. We actually featured the basement remodel here on our blog back in August in our ‘Lower Level Living’ post.
We are having fun with the remodeling and decorating book from 1954!!
In this blog we are showing two “cellar” remodels that were high style in 1954 and one that Schloegel Design Remodel completed in 2010.
Do you think things have changed much?
This past year was one of the most exciting ones that we have ever had. We loved being apart of all the new
design trends, remodeling advancements, and new home improvements. The design world sure is advancing, as commented on by a few of the posts this past year.
